My thesis has been approved and I am awaiting my degree. Why do applications for graduation take 10 weeks to process??

I can't wait to have my Masters! It only took me 6 years, but who's counting??
My next venture is to help my dad with his dissertation by proof-reading his hundreds of pages. At least I know that writing well runs in the family =).
